# Event management functionality

Epiphan Edge shows events from any CMS platform in its calendar. For events from any CMS platform, you can use Epiphan Edge to:

- View events.
- Start a scheduled event early, stop an ongoing event, and extend an ongoing event.
- Pause and resume an ongoing event. Pausing and resuming Kaltura and EchoVideo events requires Pearl firmware 4.24.6 or newer.

**Epiphan Edge cannot start ad hoc events for any CMS platform.** To create an ad hoc event through Epiphan Edge, use **Admin login** (Epiphan Edge Premium plan required; see "Admin login") to open the Pearl device's Admin panel remotely, then create the event on the Admin panel's Events page, on CMS platforms that support ad hoc events. This is the same process as when you connect to the Admin panel locally using the device's IP address; see "Create ad hoc events using the Admin panel" in the CMS features common to all Pearl integrations guide.

Subscription to an Epiphan Edge Premium plan is required to use the events management features of Epiphan Edge.

For Panopto, Kaltura, and YuJa, events management and monitoring requires Pearl firmware 4.15 or higher.

Scheduling new recording and streaming events from Epiphan Edge works only when Epiphan Edge is the Pearl device's selected CMS, and requires Pearl firmware 4.21.0 or higher. Events for a third-party CMS platform are scheduled in that CMS platform.

Event management and monitoring functionality in Epiphan Edge is updated regularly, so check back for updates.
