# Verify and troubleshoot the Epiphan MCP connection

To confirm the connection works, ask your assistant:

> List my Epiphan devices and their status.

A list of your paired devices means you're connected. If your team has write access, also try:

> Start recording on Pearl Mini Classroom 504.

Recording starting confirms write actions are working too.

| Symptom | Cause |
|---|---|
| Sign-in fails, or no devices listed | Wrong region URL, or wrong team selected during sign-in |
| Connects, but the assistant ignores it | Not enabled for that conversation |
| Assistant answers from memory instead | Name Epiphan MCP explicitly in your prompt |
| Worked yesterday, not today | Sign-in expired — reconnect |
| Assistant appears stuck | Waiting for you to approve a tool call |
| Option missing entirely | Free or unsupported plan, or an admin hasn't enabled it |
