Extend, pause, and resume CMS recordings and webcasts

Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nano, Pearl Nexus.

You can extend an active scheduled or ad hoc event using the Pearl device's front screen or the Admin panel. The extend event button can be configured to add 5, 10, or 15 minutes to the event each time it is selected, or 6, 10, or 15 in the case of YuJa. The option to extend the event appears on the Events screen while the event is in progress. Events cannot be extended beyond the start of the next scheduled event. On Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini, tap the button on the touch screen to add the specified amount of time to the current event.

You can also pause and resume active event recordings on every CMS platform: EchoVideo, Kaltura, Opencast, Panopto, and YuJa. Pause from the Pearl device screen, the Admin panel, a programmable USB button, or Epiphan Edge. An extra pause button appears on the Events screen. Pausing and resuming Kaltura and EchoVideo events requires firmware 4.24.6 or newer. Panopto, Opencast, and YuJa pause and resume were available before 4.24.6.

What happens to paused time depends on the CMS platform:

Opencast and EchoVideo mute the audio and show a pause image by default, and this cannot be changed.

Pause an event using a programmable USB attached button A CMS event recording in progress on the Pearl device can be paused and then resumed using a programmable USB attached button; see "Connect a USB control button to control CMS events." The following Delcom USB buttons are supported:

Extend, pause, or resume an event using the Admin panel

Extend, pause, or resume an event using the touch screen
