Panopto Webcast stream limits and default recording
Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nexus, Pearl Nano.
Up to four channels can stream simultaneously as part of a Panopto Webcast event. If you choose more than four Pearl device channels for a webcast in Panopto, then Panopto arbitrarily chooses a maximum of four channels to webcast. However, up to six channels can be enabled for Webcast events if requested from Panopto Support. The Pearl device must support the number of channels being streamed. All streams that are part of a Webcast Panopto event are recorded by default. This is controlled by the Upload the webcast recording setting on the CMS page of the Admin panel.
Device differences
- Pearl-2: Pearl-2 supports up to six encoding channels, if each one is at most 1080p@30FPS.
- Pearl Mini and Pearl Nexus: Pearl Mini and Pearl Nexus support up to three encoding channels, if each one is at most 1080p@30FPS.
- Pearl Nano: Pearl Nano only has a single encoding channel so it can only stream a single channel as part of a Panopto webcast event.
