Pearl device requirements for the EchoVideo (Echo360) integration
โ ๏ธ Important โ Pearl Nano is not supported
Pearl Nano does not support EchoVideo (Echo360). The Pearl Nano does not support application containers, so the Echo360 application required for the EchoVideo integration cannot be installed on it. To use the EchoVideo (Echo360) integration, use a Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, or Pearl Nexus.
Before you begin
Pearl devices come preconfigured with two channels. Each channel is treated as a separate video encoding instance, like having multiple recording and streaming devices in one box with audio for multiple source recordings and livestreams. The two preconfigured channels are set up with auto-detection to get you started quickly. Simply connect one or more sources to start capturing video.
Video sources and channels
Video sources connect directly to the video input ports on Pearl's rear panel or via IP. The recommendations below are specific to the EchoVideo (Echo360) integration.
Pearl devices support:
| Device | Recommended inputs | Maximum # of channels |
|---|---|---|
| Pearl Mini | up to three 1080p video sources | up to three 1080p30 channels |
| Pearl Nexus | up to three 1080p video sources | up to three 1080p30 channels |
| Pearl-2 | up to six 1080p video sources | up to four 1080p30 channels |
Pearl-2 supports up to six 1080p video sources, which can be encoded in up to four 1080p30 channels for the EchoVideo integration. This four-channel limit is set by the EchoVideo platform; Pearl-2's hardware can encode up to six channels total, but EchoVideo does not support more than four.
Audio sources
Audio sources connect directly to the audio input ports on Pearl's rear panel, or you can use the embedded audio from a video source. Make sure you select the same audio sources on the layout for each channel using the Admin panel.
Network configuration
By default, Pearl devices use DHCP to automatically obtain an IP address over an Ethernet network. Connect Pearl's RJ-45 port and/or a connected USB-to-Ethernet adapter to your local network. Ensure at least one network interface has access to the Internet. See Pearl Dual NIC / Helpful Information.
You can configure Pearl's network settings using the web-based Admin panel, enable 802.1x network security, configure LDAP, and more. If configuring an entire fleet, you can use Configuration Presets to apply settings across many devices, requiring you to configure just one device manually in many cases.
For the list of network ports that must be open on your firewall, see the "Network ports used by" section in your Pearl device's user guide.
