Start, stop, pause, resume, and extend EchoVideo events

Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nexus.

It is possible to start or stop an EchoVideo scheduled event before its scheduled start or end time, using the Admin panel, Epiphan Edge, Delcom USB buttons, or third-party control. On Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini, you can also use the touch screen. After an event ends, the recorded video files upload automatically to the CMS.

With firmware 4.24.6 or newer, you can also pause and resume the recording during an EchoVideo event, using the Admin panel, Epiphan Edge, Delcom USB buttons, in-room control systems such as Crestron and Q-SYS through the REST API, or, on Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini, the touch screen.

Start a scheduled event early using the Admin panel

From the Admin panel, select the Events menu and click Start beside the scheduled event on the Events page. EchoVideo supports early start up to five minutes before the scheduled start time.

Stop a scheduled event early using the Admin panel

Under Ongoing and completed events, a Stop button appears beside the event while the event is recording. Select it to stop the event before the scheduled end time.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip

In the Admin panel, you can click Refresh schedule at any time to manually update the events listed on the Events page.

Start or stop a scheduled event early using the touch screen

On Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini, tap the calendar icon to display the Events screen, or wait for the Events screen to appear automatically about five minutes before the event starts. Tap Start event to start the event early, or tap the square stop button to stop it. For details, see "Stop/start/pause/resume CMS events using the touch screen."

Pause and resume an EchoVideo event

When an EchoVideo event is running, you can pause its recording and resume it later (firmware 4.24.6 or newer). The event still ends at its scheduled end time. Nothing is recorded while the event is paused. For a live (webcast) event, the stream keeps sending while the event is paused: viewers see an event paused image with no audio until the event is resumed or ends.

Extend EchoVideo event duration

When an EchoVideo event is running, it is possible to extend the duration of the event by five minutes, using the Admin panel, Epiphan Edge, or third-party control. Events cannot be extended beyond the start of the next scheduled event.

Extending an event using the Admin panel

From the Admin panel, select the Events menu and then click the +5 minutes button to extend the current event. The button adds five minutes each time it is pressed.
