# EC20 system configuration

Once you've logged in to the web interface of the EC20 you can click on the System section on the left. The System section of the web interface is divided into five tabs, **Initialize**, **User**, **Firmware Update**, **LCD Screen**, and **Tally Light**.

### Initialize

On this tab you can click the **Reboot** button to reboot the camera. You can also click **Factory Default** to return all of the settings to the factory defaults.

The Factory Default button will not clear the Panopto settings. To clear these settings you need to go to the Panopto tab and click **Reset to defaults**.

### User

On this tab you can set the passwords for the **admin** and **guest** accounts. You can also enable or disable **SSH** functionality.

### Firmware Update

Occasionally there will be firmware updates for your EC20, these updates can resolve bugs, add new features, and more. It's generally always recommended to make sure your device is on the most recent firmware version.

Updating over the air is the recommended method, either from this web interface or from Epiphan Edge if the camera is paired to an Edge team. Firmware 2.0.16 does not support over-the-air updates, so a camera on 2.0.16 must be updated manually using a downloaded firmware file. Over-the-air updating is supported on firmware 3.3.40 and later.

Devices running firmware 2.0.16 cannot be updated directly to the current firmware. They must first be updated manually to firmware 3.4.40, and only then updated to the current release. When updating from firmware 2.0.16 or 3.4.40, the manual upgrade may require more than one attempt; this is resolved in later firmware versions. For the full upgrade path and the current firmware version, see the Epiphan product release notes.

- On the **Firmware Update** tab you can upload the firmware update **.IMG** file.

- Firmware files can be downloaded from the EC20 support page.

- After uploading the file and clicking Update the EC20 will go through a reboot. **Do not interrupt, manually reboot or power off, the camera during this process.**

- Once the update is finished you can try accessing the web interface to confirm the update as completed. You can see the new version on the **Device Info** page.

### LCD Screen

On this tab you can toggle the front LCD screen on or off. This can be useful for security purposes, especially if the EC20 is in a public area.

### Tally Light

The **Tally Light** tab controls the EC20's built-in tally light directly from the web interface. You can turn the tally light on or off and choose its color without a third-party controller or control system.

At the top of the tab, the current state is shown as **Tally light: On** or **Tally light: Off**, with a button beside it to turn it off or on.

Below that, choose how the tally light is driven:

- **Automatic (CMS):** The LED turns on automatically when the camera is recording through Panopto. Use this when the camera is the recording device.

- **Manual:** The LED is off by default and is controlled by an operator using the button on this tab or the camera API. Use this when the camera feed is recorded by an external encoder.

**Color:** Select the tally light color. The standard colors are **Red** and **Green**.

After changing any setting on this tab, click **Submit** to apply it, or **Cancel** to discard the change.
