# Configure an auto channel

*Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Nano*

Pearl-2 and Pearl Nano include a pre-configured Auto channel to make setup quick and simple. However, if you want to set custom encoding or streaming configuration for the channel, you can configure it like any other channel.

**Configure an automatic channel using the Admin panel**
- Log in to the Admin panel as **admin**.
- From the Channel(s) menu, click the automatic channel. The channel's status page opens.
- Configure the automatic channel as you would any other channel.

To change the video source for the automatic channel, just select a different video source using the custom layout editor. The channel name automatically changes to the name of the selected video source if there's only one source in that channel.

**Device differences**
- **Pearl-2:** has two automatic channels, **Auto A** and **Auto B**. From the Channel(s) menu, click **Auto A** or **Auto B**.
- **Pearl Nano:** has a single automatic channel, **Auto**. From the Channel menu, click **Auto**.
