Deploy Epiphan devices with Configuration Presets
Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nano, Pearl Nexus.
Epiphan provides tools that make deploying, monitoring, and managing fleets of Epiphan devices, small and large, easy and straightforward.
In this section we cover how to create and apply Configuration Presets:
- with Epiphan Edge
- with the Pearl Admin panel
- with a maintenance USB
It's possible, through the use of Configuration Presets â either through Epiphan Edge, the Admin panel, or a USB drive â to quickly configure multiple Pearl devices to use EchoVideo (Echo360).
âšī¸ Note
If using Epiphan Edge, a premium Edge team is required in order to apply Configuration Presets and see your EchoVideo event calendar. See the Epiphan Edge Product page.
The process, no matter the method, works like this:
- Create a Configuration Preset
- Transfer (download/upload) the Configuration Preset to your chosen method of application
- Apply the Configuration Preset to other devices of the same model
đĄ Tip
We generally recommend deselecting System, Network, and Epiphan Edge when creating and applying a Configuration Preset to other devices.

- We generally recommend deselecting System, Network, and Epiphan Edge if applying the preset to other units.

- Log in to the Admin panel for the other device you wish to configure.

- In the Import configuration preset section, click Choose file.
- In the dialogue box that appears, navigate to a Configuration Preset you have downloaded to your computer and click Open.
- Click the Import button.
- If the Configuration Preset is uploaded successfully it will appear in the list above alongside the Default Configuration Preset.
- Click the Apply button next to a preset to apply it.
Apply a configuration preset with USB
âšī¸ Note
You can also use a Maintenance USB to apply a preset from the device display. This is not supported on Pearl Nexus, as it has no display.
To create a Maintenance USB:
- Start by formatting a USB stick to exFAT, FAT32, ext2, or ext4.
- Insert the USB stick into your computer and rename the USB drive to EPIPHAN (case-sensitive).
- Create a new folder on the USB stick. Name it EPIPHAN (case-sensitive).
- Copy your Configuration Preset to the EPIPHAN folder on the Maintenance USB.
- Insert the Maintenance USB into your Pearl device.
- Access your Pearl's built-in display.
- Navigate to the Configuration Preset section of the screen.
- Tap the Cog in the lower right corner.
- Tap Configuration Presets.
- Select your preset and Apply it. This overwrites any existing settings on the device with all the settings stored in the preset. The Pearl will warn you of this and you must acknowledge that you want to proceed.
