# Perform network diagnostics

*Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nexus, Pearl Nano*

Network diagnostic tools are available to help you troubleshoot your setup. Run diagnostics like traceroute, ping, and others using the Admin panel. You can also run network diagnostics from Epiphan Edge if needed.

If you are unable to resolve your networking issues using the diagnostic tools, contact your network administrator and provide them with the IP address and MAC address of your device; otherwise, contact Epiphan Video support for assistance.

**Perform network diagnostics using the Admin panel**

- Log in to the Admin panel as admin

- From the Configuration menu, select Network and then select the Network Diagnostics tab. The Network diagnostics page opens.

- In the Network diagnostics section, choose a diagnostic test from the drop-down menu and select Start.

**Device differences**

- **Pearl Mini:** Diagnostics can also be run from the touch screen: tap the gear icon to open System settings, tap **Network**, go to the second page of Network options, tap **Network Tools**, tap the **Tools** field and select a diagnostic tool (some tests require additional information), then tap **Run**.
- **Pearl Nano:** Has no full diagnostics suite on the device. The front screen menu exposes only a "Connectivity status" check (not the full traceroute/ping suite the Admin panel offers): press the left arrow key repeatedly to reach the Menu screen, select **System > Network**, press the check mark key to select **Connectivity status**, and use the arrow keys to scroll through the results.
- **Pearl-2 and Pearl Nexus:** No on-device diagnostics procedure; diagnostics are available only through the Admin panel (and Epiphan Edge, if used).
