Pearl-2 ships with a 512 GB internal SSD, so no user-supplied storage is required.
Pearl Nexus ships with storage preinstalled. The current Pearl Nexus model ships with a 256 GB SD card preinstalled (ESP1948); an earlier model shipped with a 1 TB internal SATA SSD (ESP1882). The only hardware difference between these ESPs is the storage type. Nexus is not discontinued. You can install your own SATA M.2 2280 SSD in the current model if desired; when an SSD is installed, the SD card port is disabled. NVMe SSDs are not supported.
Pearl Mini and Pearl Nano require user-supplied storage. Both accept an SD card or a SATA M.2 2280 SSD. On Pearl Mini, the SD card port is disabled when an SSD is installed.
Integrating with CMS type EchoVideo (Echo360) requires installed storage to work correctly (Pearl Nano does not support EchoVideo (Echo360)).
SD cards used in Pearl devices are formatted as EXT4, so they are not readable on a Windows or Mac computer without third-party software and are to be treated as an internal storage, similar to a laptop or computer.
