# Pearl Nano Information

Pearl Nano is a versatile and easy to use single channel, single layout video recording and streaming hardware encoder that's great for lecture capture, corporate communications, and remote video contribution applications using live SRT feeds. It does not support switching (layout or video), multi-channel or separate recording or stream, or ladder encoding. It supports Multi-streaming to 6-10 endpoints simultaneously and HDMI, SDI, RTSP, and SRT inputs. Only one IP (RTSP or SRT) input is supported at a time. Only the HDMI and SDI inputs support up to 4K resolutions with a purchased 4K add-on. RTSP and SRT inputs are always limited to up to 1920x1200. Pearl Nano does not support NDI or NDI|HX inputs or streaming. Pearl Nano does not support Dante audio. Pearl Nano does not support chroma keying. A 4K add-on/license is required for encoding, recording, streaming up to 4K resolutions, and downscaling resolutions higher than 1920x1200. Pearl Nano’s HDMI passthrough port supports up to 4K resolutions with the purchased 4K add-on, but the HDMI output port is always limited to up to 1920x1200. Video playback in a layout, live video playback, scrubbing, or playback of recordings via HDMI is not supported. The rear USB port supports UAC devices but does not support UVC webcams or USB ethernet dongles, or USB webcam output. It uses SD Cards or SATA SSDs (m.2 2280 form factor) and supports up to 1TB storage. NVMe is not supported. Class 10 U3 SD cards up to 512GB are recommended, but the SD card port is disabled if an SSD is installed.

With Pearl Nano, you can capture, record and stream computer monitors and other video sources, including:

- SDI

- HDMI™

- HDMI 4K

- DVI-I (single link) via HDMI

- SRT and RTSP

Simultaneously capture up to two audiovisual sources and arrange them in a custom layout with transparent images and backgrounds.

Capture audio from dedicated XLR, USB, and RCA audio ports, as well as from SDI, HDMI, and network video sources (SRT and RTSP).

Stream to Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) worldwide using modern protocols like SRT and HLS. At the same time, you can stream to other destinations using RTMP/RTMPS or RTSP. Even multicast directly to viewers on your LAN so they can watch the live channel broadcast using a web browser or media player on smart devices connected to the same private network as Pearl Nano.

Download recordings using your web browser, or set Pearl Nano to automatically upload recorded files directly to a network server using SFTP, RSYNC, CIFS, WebDav, and more. Pearl Nano is also fully integrated with Kaltura, Panopto, YuJa, and Opencast Content Management Systems (CMSs) and can be registered as a video remote recorder resource for seamless lecture capture.

Network security compliance with 802.1x protocols, passwords, and certificate authentication means an easier setup for IT friendly live streaming over enterprise networks. Pearl Nano is HTTPS enabled for secure administration and control over the LAN, and supports secure live streaming protocols like SRT with AES encryption and RTMPS.

Pearl Nano does not capture from HDCP encrypted sources.

The rear panel of the Pearl Nano has vesa mounting holes to fit a standard, 75mm × 75mm vesa mount. Use four M4 screws with a maximum length of 5mm to mount the plate to the rear panel of the Pearl Nano.

Do not insert screws longer than the recommended 5mm. Using longer screws can damage the device.
