EC20 firmware upgrade paths and requirements
Applies to: EC20 PTZ Camera.
The upgrade path depends on the firmware currently installed on the camera. Devices on the oldest firmware cannot go straight to the current release.
Over-the-air updates are the recommended method, but they are not available on every firmware version:
- Firmware 2.0.16 does not support over-the-air updates. A camera on 2.0.16 must be updated manually using a downloaded firmware file.
- Over-the-air updating is supported on firmware 3.3.40 and later, from the camera's web interface or from Epiphan Edge.
Upgrade path by installed version:
- From 2.0.16 โ the camera cannot be updated directly to 3.6.44. Devices running firmware 2.0.16 must first be updated manually to firmware 3.4.40, and only then updated to 3.6.44. Firmware 3.4.40 is published as the required intermediate firmware for this reason.
- From 3.4.40 or later โ update directly to 3.6.44, over the air or manually.
Known issue when upgrading from 2.0.16 or 3.4.40: the manual upgrade may require more than one attempt. This issue is resolved in later firmware versions. Epiphan strongly recommends following the documented firmware upgrade steps in the EC20 troubleshooting guide when upgrading from either of these versions.
