Pearl firmware 4.24.6 โ all Pearl systems, with device differences
Applies to: Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nexus, Pearl Nano โ with Native Dante Audio Support and EchoVideo Enhancements excluded on Pearl Nano.
- Native Dante Audio Support โ Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, and Pearl Nexus can now natively receive and decode Dante audio over the network, eliminating the external dongles and additional cable runs previously needed to bring Dante audio into a Pearl system. Not available on Pearl Nano. Pearl-2 supports 4 channels (two stereo inputs); Pearl Mini and Pearl Nexus support 2 channels (one stereo input).
- Pause and Resume Local Recordings โ pause and resume a recording in progress without requiring integration to a CMS platform, useful during breaks or when part of a session should not be recorded. Previously, users had to stop and restart the recording, producing multiple files that needed to be combined afterward; with pause and resume, the recording stays a single file with the unwanted portion excluded.
- Pause and Resume Kaltura Recordings โ pause and resume a Kaltura recording directly from the device, for greater control over lecture and presentation recordings.
- Upload Recordings to Custom S3-Compatible Storage โ automatically upload recordings to a custom S3-compatible storage endpoint, giving organizations the flexibility to choose their preferred S3-compatible provider based on cost, existing infrastructure, or data sovereignty requirements.
- EchoVideo Enhancements โ Pearl-2, Pearl Mini, and Pearl Nexus only; not available on Pearl Nano. This release adds:
- Pause and resume EchoVideo recordings from the admin panel, Epiphan Edge, Delcom buttons, or in-room control systems such as Crestron and QSYS via REST API. Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini also support pause and resume from the touchscreen.
- Create EchoVideo ad hoc events directly from the device.
- Start EchoVideo ad hoc events from the admin panel or from in-room control systems such as Crestron and QSYS via REST API. Pearl-2 and Pearl Mini also support starting ad hoc events from the built-in touch screen. EchoVideo ad hoc events cannot be started with Delcom buttons.
- One-click session re-upload โ re-upload all recordings for an EchoVideo event from the device's web interface with a single click, instead of locating and uploading individual files.
Pearl Nano moves from the 4.24.4 release line directly to 4.24.6. Nano did not receive firmware 4.24.5 (see above); 4.24.6 is the first release since 4.24.4 to include Pearl Nano.
Firmware 4.24.6 also includes reliability improvements and bug fixes across all four Pearl systems.
